BARISAL: A suspected dacoit was killed by angry mobs in Kaliganj Bazar under Bakerganj Upazila of the district early Monday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Sources said that night guard a shop saw that some dacoits are trying to break a wall of the shop. When he tried to obstruct them, the dacoits started beating him.

Later, hearing the screaming of the night guard, locals rushed to the spot and caught a suspected dacoit and beat him up indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
 
Confirming the matter, Bakerganj Thana Officer-in-Charge Nurul Islam said that the body will be sent to Barisal Sher-e-bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
