DHAKA: A court has issued a show-cause notice to Dhaka Central Jail authorities for not producing Lt Col Tareque Sayeed Mohammad without showing any cause.

Tareque is one of the accused of gruesome seven-murder case of Narayanganj.

Senior Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin issued this notice.

Narayanganj district lawyers’ association president Shakhawat Hossain Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said 21 among 24 accused of the seven-murder case were present on the dock.

From rest of the three, one is sick and one is in remand. But the jail authorities did not show any cause for Tareque’s absence.

Moreover, the court has also ordered Jail Authorities to produce Tareque in the next hearing day. It has also ordered the investigation officer to produce charge-sheet of the case on the same day.
