CHITTAGONG: Detective branch of police rescued 15 people on Monday from the port city’s Laldighi Par area as they were going to Malaysia illegally.

Sources told banglanews that the law enforcers, however, also detained a broker in the drive.

Detective branch of city police additional commissioner (north) Mohammad Mainuddin said some 15 people were brought from Sunamganj.

“They were being taken forcefully in a microbus on way to Teknaf,” he said adding, “They were scheduled to be sailed in the night.”

However, the broker is now being interrogated.
