FROM LABAID HOSPITAL: Poet Nirmalendu Goon is recovering rapidly after his open-heart surgery on Monday (October 13) at Labaid Hospital in city and now he is out of danger. 

Chief Cardiac Surgeon of the hospital Lutfar Rahman, on Monday night, told banglanews that the poet will recuperate fully soon and two days later he will be shifted to general bed from Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Earlier, Poet Nirmalendu Goon’s open-heart surgery was successfully completed under the supervision of noted Cardiologists Dr Baren Chakraborty and Dr Lutfar in city’s Labaid Hospital on Monday afternoon.

He came round in the evening after the operation.

On Saturday noon, the poet fell sick and later on Sunday he was admitted to Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital.

The poet, later in the Sunday afternoon, was shifted to Labaid Hospital as diagnosis showed his heart-attack following little improvement of his physical condition.

He, in the evening, was transferred to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

According to the Labaid physicians, one of the heart arteries of this septuagenarian poet was found blocked.
