Dhaka: A group of unidentified outsiders Monday ransacked three teachers’ rooms at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University—a repeat of such incident of violence at the country’s highest seat of medical education and medicare.

Sources said the agitated strangers at about 11:00am vandalized the rooms of Secretary-General of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Sharfuddin Ahmed and Joint Secretary-General Abdul Aziz, and Secretary-General of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad Iqbal Arsalan.

Director of BSMMU Brigadier-General Abdul Mazid Bhuiyan said,” The incident might have been an outburst of ire, dissatisfaction and misunderstanding, which rose out of doctors’ recruitment on ad-hoc.”

Soon, investigation would be conducted regarding this, he added.
