ACC summons 4 NHA ex chiefs among 11

DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) summoned 11 officials of National Housing Authority (NHA), including its four former chairmen.

They were ordered to appear before ACC on October 19.

The ACC deputy director and also investigation officer Jatan Kumar Roy issued and sent the notice on Tuesday afternoon.

The summoned people are NHA former chairmen Abdul Bari Khan, ATM Ataur Rahman, Abdul Khalek, Abu Sayeed, former secretary Aminur Rahman, Senior assistant secretary Benjamin Haidar, joint secretary Jubayer Ahmed Siddique, director Mohammad Abdul Hamid, deputy director Abdul Kaiyum, caretaker engineer Sultan Ahmed and former executive engineer Nurul Islam.

The ACC summoned them again as they did not appear before the ACC earlier.

ACC sources said that in 2006, the former state minister for housing and public works Alamgir Kabir allocated a government land piece to Dhaka Sangbadik Union Samabai Samity Limited while he was in the power that made the government Tk 15.52 lakh loss.

Following the matter, it makes a Tk 155,250,900 loss for the government.

Later on March 6, ACC deputy director Jatan Kumar filed a case with Shahbagh Thana.
