CHITTAGONG: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday detained the mastermind of G4S Security Services Bangladesh (P) Ltd (formerly Group 4 Securicor) money stealing scandal.

Sources said that the detainee is Shahidul Islam Shawn, 24, security guard of G4S.

He, however, was nabbed from Rangamati, sources added.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Commanding Officer of RAB 7 (Chittagong Zone) Lieutenant Colonel Miftah Uddin Ahmed said that acting on a tip off they have arrested Shawn from there around 7:15am.

Earlier, Tk 2,99,50,000 of Tk 3 crore, which was stolen from port city’s branch of Group Four Security (G4S) Services Bangladesh Private Limited in the early hours of Sunday, has also been recovered on Tuesday.
