COX’S BAZAR: Police detained 26 Malaysia-bound fortune seekers from Goalia Palang area under Ramu Upazila of the district early Thursday.

Details of the detainees could not be known immediately.

Confirming the matter, Ramu Thana Officer-in-Charge told banglanews that acting on tip-off, the law enforcers conducted a drive and held them from the area around 1:30am.

The fortune seekers hailed from Jessore, Norial, Kishoreganj, Bogra and other districts.

Necessary steps would be taken in this matter, the OC added.
