SYLHET: Banglanews24.com Sylhet correspondent Abdullah Al Noman was injured as the “cadres” of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) attacked him on Thursday afternoon.

The incident took place in front of MC College auditorium around 1:15pm.

Witnesses said some 8/10 armed BCL cadres led by Saidul and Avi attacked Noman when he went to the college and chopped him indiscriminately, leaving him injured.

Later, a student, Anik, saved him from the attackers and took him to the MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Injured Noman said recently banglanews published several reports on the supremacy of Chhatra League in MC College.

They might attack him for this reason, he guessed.

Being informed, police led by additional deputy commissioner (south) Zedan Al Musa and officer-in-charge of Shahparan Thana Shakhawat Hossain visited the spot.

Sylhet police acting commissioner SM Rukon Uddin said the culprits of the incident would be detained soon.
 
The law enforcers are conducting drives to arrest the culprits, he added.
