TANGAIL: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Thursday arrested four people for killing a mother and 3-daughter by torching a house pouring petrol.
The arrestees are Asif, Kawsar, Abul Kashem alias Kachhed, 50, and Nur Mohammad alias Nipu, 24.
Tangail RAB-12 company commander Mohiuddin Faruque told banglanews that, acting on a tip-off, they conducted several drives and arrested Asif from Mirzapur and Kawsar from Kaliakair upazilas.
On information from the two arrestees, the elite forces arrested Kashem and Nur from Dhaka’s Kamrangirchar area in the afternoon.
However, a total of 13 people were arrested in this connection.
On October 7, Hasna Begum, 30, wife of expatriate Mojibur Rahman and her three daughters--Manira, 14, Mim, 6, and Moly, 4—were burnt alive at Dakkhin Sohagpara village under Mirzapur upazila of the district.
Hasna’s brother, Mofazzal Hossain filed a case with Mirzapur Thana against 10 people making Jahangir Alam main accused in the case.
