DHAKA: British Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for International Development Lynne Featherstone will arrive in Dhaka on Sunday in a three-day visit.

During her visit, she will meet Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Foregn Minister AHM Mahmood Ali and State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam apart from other engagements, said sources concerned.

She is likely to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, but the matter is not confirmed yet, said sources of the foreign ministry.

Prior to depart from Bangladesh, she will hold a press briefing on Tuesday.

Lynne Featherstone was appointed as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for International Development on 5 September 2012.

She will visit Bangladesh as a follow-up of first girls’ summit held in Landon on July 22. In the summit, Bangladesh commits to eliminate child marriage from the country.

Led-by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh joined the summit organized jointly by British Government and UNICEF.
