DHAKA: Customs officials seized 56 iPhone sets and detained a person at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday.

The accused—Moniruzzaman—landed at the airport from Bangkok by a Thai Airlines flight.

Sources told banglanews that Moniruzaman brought the mobile-phone sets illegally from Bangkok by a Thai Airlines flight.

Moniruzzaman was detained by the customs officials while crossing the airport’s green channel around 3:30pm, sources added.

However, the seized mobile-phone sets include 26 iPhone 6 plus, two iPhone 6, 14 iPhone 5 and 6 iPhone 5s.
