FF demand Nizami’s capital punishment

DHAKA: Freedom fighters took position in front of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1, demanding death penalty of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami, accused in charges on crimes against humanity in 1971. 

Over two hundreds FF from Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad (BMS), Muktijoddha Sangsad Santan Command, Muktijoddha Command Mohammadpur Thana, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Projonmo League staged demonstration in the area around 9:00am.

Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council Vice Chairman Ismat Kazi said, “Nizami worked against independence during 1971. We demand his capital punishment.”

Earlier in the day, International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 started pronouncing the verdict in war crimes case against Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami.
