DHAKA: The Cabinet on Monday has okayed the list of public holidays for 2015.

Sources told banglanews that the draft of the proposed public holidays suggested by the public administration ministry had incorporated 23 days of leave, including 15 general holidays.

The approval came in the morning from the cabinet meeting held at the secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

After the meting, cabinet division secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan informed the media at a briefing that nine general holidays among the 15 will be on weekends (either on Fridays or Saturdays).

Moreover, three holidays following the executive order will also be on weekends, he added.

On the other hand, the nation will celebrate Eid-e-Milad-un Nabi twice in the year, once on January 4 and later on December 24, the cabinet division secretary added.
