DHAKA: A woman was killed in a road accident in Cantonment area of the capital on Monday afternoon.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Police sources said a private car knocked the woman down in the area around 3:30pm, leaving her dead on the spot. “She was a mental patient,” said a spot account of the accident.

However, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Cantonment Thana Sub-Inspector Benzir Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews.
