DHAKA: A group of muggers shot a man and snatched Tk 500,000 in Rampura area of the capital on Monday afternoon.

The victim--Belayet Hossain, 45—is a security guard of Bony Apparel located in front of Hajipara Petrol Pump of the area.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Belayet Hossain told banglanews that the incident took place around 2:30pm.

“I was going to Malibagh Chowdhury Para along with Ajit Babu, the accounts officer of Bony Apparel. We were carrying the money as payment of the staff of the company’s another branch there,” he added.

“After going for a while, some armed men opened fire from two sides of us and took the money away leaving me injured,” the victim added.

Bony Apparel’s manager Abul Bashar said that Belayet received bullet injury at his left leg.
