Dhaka: A domestic help allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the city’s Gulshan area on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Rekha Akhter, 13, hailed from Jhupaura village in Sadar upazila of Mymensingh district. She was working in the house of Captain Mohammad Hasnain.

Captain Hasnain found Rekha hanging from a ceiling fan in the dining room of his house at around 8:30pm. He rushed Rekha to the United Hospital where the duty doctor declared her dead.

A UD case was filed with Gulshan thana in this connection.
