RAJSHAHI: President M Abdul Hamid is scheduled to attend the fourth convocation of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) on Tuesday.

RUET public relations department’s assistant director Golam Murtaza said that the President, and also the chancellor of the university, Abdul Hamid will chair the convocation ceremony.

He further said that the university authorities have already taken all preparations for the convocation.

“Moreover, the RUET campus has been decorated with a festive look ahead of the convocation,” he added.

On the other hand, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Tanvir Haider Chowdhury that law enforcement agencies have taken special security measures across the city to avert any untoward incident ahead of the President’s visit.

Earlier on Sunday night, the President returned home after wrapping up his 10-day visit to China and Singapore.

On November 6, Abdul Hamid went China to attend a dialogue on strengthening connectivity partnership at the invitation of Chinese president Xi Jinping.

Later, he went to Singapore from China on November 11 for medical treatment.
