SYLHET: A university student was killed here on Thursday during intra-party clashes of Chhatra League at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST).

Sources said that the deceased Sumon was a student of Sylhet International University.

Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital emergency unit doctor told bagnlanews that Sumon died at noon.

The deceased was taken at the hospital after he got bullet injury at SUST during the clashes.

Earlier, two rival groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student affiliate of the ruling Awami League, were locked into clashes at the university.

At least three students, at that time, were bullet injured, the sources said.

The clashes started around 11:30am.

The BCL leaders and activists were engaged in clashes when the report was filed around 01:00pm.
