BRAHMANBARIA: A fire that broke out in a microwave station room of state-owned Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Ltd (BTCL) in Bhadughar area of the district on Monday morning.

The fire has disrupted telecommunication and internet services of more than 4,000 clients in the area.

The fire might have originated by electric short circuit around 6:30am.

One information fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame after a 40 minutes’ effort.

According to estimates of BTCL Deputy Assistant Engineer Mominul Haque, the fire has caused losses worth several crores of taka.

Brahmanbaria Fire Service Station Officer Mohammad Waliullah confirmed the matter to banglanews.
