DHAKA: A speedy trial tribunal has awarded death penalty of two members of banned Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on a murder case.

Judge ABM Nizamul Haque of Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 passed the order on Wednesday noon.

The convicts include JMB top leaders Saiful Islam and Abdur Rahman alias Fahad Alal.

The statement said a police source was killed and a police constable injured by the gun shots of the two JMB men while the law enforcers searching a Dhaka-bound bus, coming from Meherpur, in Pamna bypass traffic post of Tangail.
