FENI: Rail communications of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet have been restored on Sunday morning following one and half an hour halt as a stone-laden truck went out of services on rail line in Sharshadi area.
Confirming the matter, Mostafijur Rahman, an assistant engineer of Railway (east), told banglanews that the rail services were restored around 10:45am after a salvage vehicle cleared the line with a 1.15-hour effort.
Earlier, a Dhaka-bound wagon train had to stop there as a stone-laden truck went out of services on rail line at Sharshadi around 9:30am, he added.
Following the matter, according to the railway official, two more trains-- Chittagong-bound Meghna Express from Chandpur and Mazhar Uddin Special-- were also restrained at that area.
