Ashulia road crash kills trader, hurt 5

ASHULIA (DHAKA): A cloth trader was killed and five others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Aricha highway near Kohinur Bus Stand in Ashulia at the outskirt of the capital Friday noon.

The deceased was identified as Salam Khan, son of a one late Nur Uddin, hailed from Madaripur district sadar.

Witnesses told banglanews that a rashly driven passenger-bus knocked down an auto-rickshaw that was carrying six passengers including Salam Khan, leaving him dead on the spot.

Ashulia Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Badrul Alam told banglanews that police recovered the body.

He further said the injured five passengers were given primary treatment at a local hospital.

Local people handed over the bus driver and helper to Ashulia Thana police, he added.

OC Badrul Alam added that they had filed a case in this connection.
