MANIKGANJ: Three motorcyclists were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Aricha highway in BSCIC area of the district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Al-Mamun, 18, son of Altaf Hossain, Saikat Hossain Tipu, 21, Shahinur Rahman, residents of Saturia upazila of the district and Hridoy Hossain, 20, son of Sohel Uddin, hailed from Naryanganj district.

Police sources said a rashly driven truck crushed into their motorbike in the area around 4:30pm, leaving them injured critically.

They were rushed to Manikganj Sadar Hospital where two of them succumbed to their injuries.

Another critically injured was succumbed on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The agitated locals blockaded the highway for 40 minutes protesting the accident and demanded to make a speed breaker in the area.

Golora Highway Thana Mizanul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
