BANDARBAN: A tourist was killed while 12 others were injured as their microbus plunged into a ditch in Shoilopropat area early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Kabir Hossain, son of one Ahad Hossain, resident of T&T Colony of Gulshan, Dhaka. The injured are residents of capital’s Banani.

Police source said a microbus carrying the tourists was returning to Bandarban town from Nilgiri on Sunday midnight. It plunged into a road side ditch when its driver lost control over steering, leaving the casualties.

On information, police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot and sent the injured people to Bandarban Sadar Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana M Imtiaz Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews.
