Japan for technical interns from Bangladesh

DHAKA: Japanese International Manpower Development Organization (IMDO) expressed its interest to recruit technical interns from Bangladesh.

IMDO managing director (MD) Kazuo Tusubota expressed the interest at a meeting with  Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain in latter’s office on Monday.

They also discussed bilateral issues, specially the recruitment of technical interns.

Kazuo said since Japan fulfills its requirement of some 2,300 technical interns from other countries every year, Bangladesh will get preference in this regards.

Bangladesh can utilize the opportunity attaining required skill after completion of language course and necessary trainings, said the MD.

Khandker Mosharraf said, “Under supervision of the ministry, there are a total of 71 technical training institutes, including five marine technical training institutes, where the interested youths can take training in 47 trades.

Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment secretary Dr Khandoker Shawkat Hossain, BMET general secretary Begum Shamsun Nahar and Japan’s IMDO deputy managing director Kunika Yoshida, among others were present.
