DHAKA: Eminent journalist Nadeem Qadir has been made the press minister of Bangladesh High Commission in the United Kingdom.
The government has appointed him on Tuesday for next two years, sources told banglanews.
Ministry of public administration, in this connection, issued a circular in the day.
The son of Colonel Abdul Qadir, who sacrificed his life during the liberation war of Bangladesh, Nadeem has made a great contribution to journalism of the country.
He started his journey in the media after completing the study in International Relations (IR) department from Dhaka University (DU).
Later, in last two decades, he worked at several national and international media including Reader's Digest and Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Nadeem also worked at bdnews24.com, country’s first online news portal, as deputy editor-in-chief at the beginning of the organization. He also worked at several private satellite television channels in different important posts.
He, moreover, achieved prestigious Dag Hammarskjöld Fellowship at his early age of journalism.
However, country’s journalist society has greeted Nadeem for his new appointment.
