GAIBANDHA: Gaibandha Sadar upazila chairman and also Jamaat-e-Islami district unit secretary Abdul Karim was sent to jail.

Denying Karim’s bail plea, Gaibandha senior judicial second court judge Taskinul Islam passed the order on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier on October 2, the local government division suspended the chairman in an order following a charge-sheet in six cases.

However, the cases were filed against the chairman accusing him in the murder of four police personnel on February 28 in 2013 in Bamandanga investigation centre in Sundarganj upazila of the district.
