DHAKA: An elderly person was killed as a passenger bus knocked him down in city’s Jatrabari area on Sunday.

The ill-fated man was identified as Abu Hanif, 58, resident of North Jatrabari area.

The deceased’s nephew Shafiqul Islam told banglanews that a rashly driven passenger bus knocked Abu Hanif at Jatrabari intersection around 9:00am, leaving him critically injured.

Abu Hanif was then rushed to a local hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 1:30pm.

The body was kept to the hospital’s morgue.
