DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed restriction on vehicular movement on some specific roads and areas in the city on the occasion of Victory Day, to be celebrated on Tuesday.
The restriction will continue till the end of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s courtesy meeting with the freedom fighters along with the ministers, military, paramilitary, diplomats and other important persons, starting from 12:00pm.
A press note, signed by DMP commissioner Benazir Ahmed, made the statement on Sunday.
However, the press release said that DMP imposed the restriction aiming the smooth movement of vehicles.
According to the press note, the DMP chief has apologized to the city dwellers for their temporary inconvenience.
Nevertheless, the roads, which will be restricted on the day, are from Zero Point to Gulistan Intersection and RAJUK Crossing (Except Flyover), Sergeant Ahad Box to Ittefaq Intersection, Alico GAP to Dilkusha Commercial Area and RAJUK Crossing, Northern part of the Bangabhaban Park to Ittefaq Intersection and Dainik Bangla Intersection to RAJUK Avenue.
On the other hand, all Gulistan-bound buses, which ply from Shapla Chattar, have been requested to use the road goes through UBL Crossing and Press Club or any other alternative routes on the day.
