NARAYANGANJ: Police seized tanker MT Total and held its master among four from Shitolakkhya River on Monday morning for the alleged involvement in oil-tanker OT Southern-7 capsize in Shela River in Sundarbans on December 9.

The detainees are- master Mostofa, 53, laborer Faruk, 34, Akkas, 25 and Piyar Ali, 30.

Officer-in-Charge of Siddhirganj Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On December 9, MT Total hit oil-tanker OT Southern-7 in Shela River, leaving the furnace oil-laden tanker sunk that caused oil spill in the waterways around Sundarbans.
