MEHERPUR: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) picked up a Bangladeshi national from Sonapur frontier of Mujibnagar upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The detainee is Nazrul Islam Bhanta, 42, son of Nurul Islam of Sonapur village.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Chuadanga-6 commander SM Maniruzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said the BSF member detained Nazrul when he was bringing his cattle from the frontier at noon and he was handed over to the Chapra Thana in India’s Nadia district.
However, a flag meeting was held between BGB and BSF to release Nazrul.
