DHAKA: DATCO Group Chairman Dr Moosa Bin Shamsher on Thursday said he would invest in much-talked-about Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project if his some $7 billon seized in Swiss Bank is freed.

He came up with the assertion while talking to reporters after he was quizzed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

ACC deputy director Mir Joynul Abedin Sibli quizzed him at its headquarters in city’s Segunbagicha area from 10:00am to 1:00pm for allegedly siphoning off money and accumulating wealth illegally.

In response to a query, Moosa said, “Investment in Padma Bridge was also the dream of my father. I will invest $3 billion in an angle bridge from Goalanda to Aricha-Nagarbari under the project.”

Apart from this, he showed his interest to invest in rehabilitating government officials, teachers and old people if the sized money of Swiss bank is released.

This year, an international Business Magazine ‘Business Asia’ published a report that Moosa has 7 billion USD that is equivalent to Tk 51,000 crore, in Swiss Bank.

After the publication, the ACC decided to grill Moosa in this regards.

However, Moosa claimed that he earned the money from foreign countries and after the investigation the source of this money will be revealed.

The ACC sources said Moosa declined all accusation against him during the quiz.

Earlier on December 4, the anti-graft body sent a notice to the tycoon to appear before the commission on December 18 to face interrogation.

However, Moosa’s DATCO Group exports manpower to foreign countries from Bangladesh.

But, the global media mention his name as an international arms trader.
