DHAKA: A cleaner was electrocuted in city’s Demra area Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam, 50, hailed from Barisal.

Victim’s colleague Sultan Ahmed told banglanews that Abul Kalam came into contact with an abandoned live electric wire while they were cleaning weeds in a land of the area around 3:30pm.

However, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
