BHOLA: Some 74 passengers were recued alive, but a child remained untraced as a trawler capsized in Meghna River after hitting a hidden shoal in Badshaw Miah Char under Tazmuddin upazila on Thursday noon.

Two rescued passenger, Riaz and Monir, said the 13-year old child, Akhter, son of Alam of Gazaria area under Lalmohan upazila went missing.

Locals said some 75 people from Lalmohan upazila’s Gazaria friends club were on board and going for picnic at Manpura Char.

With the help of fishing boats, rescue team recovered the trawler passengers, they added.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalmohan Thana Akteruzzaman confirmed the matter.
