DHAKA: A woman out of four people, who sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a Gabtoli slum on Wednesday night, succumbed to her injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Shanta Akter, resident of the slum.

The fire originated around 9:30pm from a shanty of the slum, leaving four people severely injured.
 
The injured –Shanta,20, her daughter Bristi, 3, Rubel, 12, and Abdul Gani, 43-- were rushed to burn unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Later, Shanta breathed her last  early Friday while condition of Bristi, Rubel, and Abdul Gani who suffered 98, 33, 58, and 35 percent burn injuries respectively, is critical.
