MUNSHIGANJ: A 20-kilometre-long tailback has been created on Dhaka-Chittagong highway after a truck went out of service on Meghna Bridge Thursday night.

Sources told banglanews that long queue of vehicles was seen on both side of the highway, causing immense sufferings to passengers, due to dense fog though the truck has already been removed from there.

However, the gridlock has been created from Sonargaon to Daudkandi, sources added.

Confirming the matter, Vaberchar Highway Police Station traffic sergeant Saiful Islam said that a truck, after going out of service on Meghna Bridge, has created the situation.

“Dense fog also worsened the condition,” he added. “On information, we rushed to the spot and removed the truck from the highway and police are now working to return normalcy.”
