DHAKA: Four people were killed in separate road accidents in Comilla and Gaibandha on Friday.
Comilla Correspondent said two people were killed as a tractor collided head-on with an auto rickshaw in Bakar Nagar area of Muradnagar upazila around 4:00pm.
Sub-inspector (SI) Abu Zaher of Mirpur Highway police said two auto rickshaw passengers, Abdur Rahman, 45, of Julhas village of Debidwar Upazila and Sourav, 3, son of Abdul Mannan of Hakar village under Kosba upazila of Brahmabaria, died on the spot and three others injured in the accident.
The injured were rushed to the Muradnagar upazila Health Complex.
However, Gaibandha Correspondent said a truck helper and a pedestrian were killed when the driver of the paddy-laden truck lost his control over the steering in Fasitala area in Gobindaganj upazila around 3:00pm.
The deceased pedestrian was identified as Shafiqul Islam, son of Golam Ashraf of Masta village of the upazila.
However, the truck helper’s identity could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Masud Parvez of Gobindaganj Highway Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.
