CHITTAGONG: Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun Sunday said the government wouldn’t tolerate police administration’s laxity towards those who are letting loose anarchy to foil war crimes trial.

“The law enforcers have been directed to remain alert to face any attempt to foil the trial,” the minister said to journalists after her visit to the women police dormitories at Chittagong`s Dampara Sunday.

She also urged people to give information about war criminals to the government.

She also attended a seminar organised by Bangladesh Human Rights Commission at the Chittagong Circuit House. Sahara Khatun told the seminar that the ruling government had Bangabandhu killers executed.

“Six other murderers who are still absconding would have to face the same fate,” she added.  

Later, she exchanged views with the police commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner and other officials at the office of Chittagong Metropolitan Police.

“I have come to observe the development of public-police relationship and also outcomes of the government initiatives taken to solve the problems in police administration,” Sahara told her audience.

The Minister visited Chittagong after attending the concluding parade ceremony of 77th batch at Satkania Baitul Izzat BDR Training Center.

The Minister, in her speech at Satkania, hoped the trial of BDR mutiny outside of Dhaka would be completed within next six to nine months.
