TANGAIL: Seven people were killed in separate road accidents in Tangail on Tuesday.
Earlier in the morning, four were killed and five others injured in a road accident in Salla area under Kalihati upazila.
Locals said that a rashly driven oil-laden lorry rammed into a taxicab in the area around 7:20am, leaving two passengers of the cab dead on the spot while the lorry helper and another cab passenger succumbed to their injuries on arrival at the hospital.
Five others were injured critically in this fatal road mishap.
Elenga police outpost sergeant Kamruzzaman Raj confirmed the matter to banglanews.
On the other hand, a truck knocked down a CNG-run auto-rickshaw leaving the driver and a passenger injured near Elenga bus stand.
Locals rescued the injured people and admitted them to Tangail Medical College Hospital where the passenger identified as Mohammad Ali was declared dead on arrival.
However, on information of the accident, Mohammad Ali was going from Elenga bus stand to the accident place.
Besides, an ambulance hit a Dhaka-bound truck due to deep fog in the same place leaving the driver and helper of the ambulance injured on Tuesday morning.
Tangail Medical College Hospital on-duty doctor declared them dead on arrival.
Moreover, Ghatail Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Moklesur Rahman said that a head-on collision of two CNG-run auto-rickshaws left a passenger Narayan Chandra Pal dead and three others wounded at Hamidpur of Ghatail upazila in the morning on the day.
