9 passengers burnt in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI: Nine bus passengers including children and women were burnt in a petrol bomb attack in front of BRAC Bank office under Tanore upazila of the city Friday evening.

Confirming the matter, officer-in-charge (OC) Anwar Hossain of Tanore Thana said some miscreants threw petrol bomb in a running bus in the area around 7:30pm, leaving nine passengers of the bus burn injured.

The injured were taken to the Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).

Being informed, the fire service team rushed to the spot. But, the bus turned into ashes before the fire fighters reached there.

In Paba upazila, locals nabbed two Shibir activists and beat them indiscriminately while torching a bus in the area.
