MAGURA: Driver and helper of a truck sustained burn injuries when blockaders hurled petrol bomb at the vehicle at Arpara bazaar in Shalikha Upazila early Wednesday.
The burn victims are driver Milon, 35, son of Abdur Rashid of Benapole port Thana and his helper Imarul, 18, hailed from same area.
Locals said the Ginger-laden truck caught fire following explosion of a petrol bomb on Magura-Jessore road. Then, the driver lost control over its steering and the truck fell into a roadside ditch, leaving the duo badly burnt.
Other workers rushed them to Magura Sadar Hospital.
Both the burn victims were sent to Dhaka for better treatment after giving first aid, hospital’s doctor Momtaj Majid told banglanews.
Shalikha Thana officer-in0charge Biplob Kumar Nath confirmed the matter of attack on truck and casualties.
