4 burnt in Cox’s Bazar fire

COX’S BAZAR: Four people received burn injuries as a fire broke out at a house in Baharchhara area in the district town on Friday noon.

The injured are Parvez, 20, son of Abul Kalam, Selim, 35, son of M Shafi, Ripon Sharma, 28, son of Papular Sharma and Shahed, 16, son of Abul Kashem.

Locals said that the fire originated from a gas cylinder explosion around 12:30pm.

On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze.

In the meantime, four houses were gutted totally in the incident and four people badly burnt.

Among the injured, Parvez were admitted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital with 60 percent burn injuries while rests with 30 percent burns, said Dr Ratan Chowdhury, superintendent of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
