‘Criminal’ killed in Comilla ‘gunfight’

COMILLA: A suspected criminal was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police in Bhatpara area of Sadar South Upazila of the district early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Swapan, 39, resided at North Rampur village of the upazila.

The gunfight between criminals and police took place at 2:30am. Police rushed the body to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue around 3:00am. 

Sadar South Thana Officer-in-Charge Proshanta Paul confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Police also recovered a pistol and several round of bullets from the spot.

Swapan was accused in 28 cases including Juba League leader Mostak murder, he added.
