MUNSHIGANJ: Two people were killed and three others sustained bullet injuries following a clash of the villagers here in Kalirchar area of Sadar upazila Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Foyej Miji, 35 and Mohan Bepari, 48, two locals of that area.

Sources told banglanews that the clash took place around 9:00pm.

Two groups of villagers, according to the sources, locked into clashes at that area over establishing supremacy in the area.

At one stage, the rival groups traded gunshots, sources added. The clash left Foyej Miji dead on the spot and four bullet-wound.

Later, another succumbed to his injuries on way to the Munshiganj General Hospital while rests were undergoing treatment there.

Munshiganj Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Khayer Fakir, confirming the matter, said that police rushed to spot and brought the situation under control.
