BOGRA: Four people--one woman and three children—went missing as a boat capsized in the Jamuna River in Sonatala upazila on Wednesday night.

Police said the boat was heading towards Sonatali from Jamalpur at about 5pm. But, in the midstream, it sank in the river in Charmohanpur area of Sonatala upazila. Passenger Zahura, 28, and her two children and another child were feared drowned in the ferry accident.

Officer-in-Charge of the police station Zia Latif said, “We took initiative to bring divers from Rajshahi for the rescue of the missing people.”

But, till the latest report came, the planned rescue operation had not started.
