DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) approved charge sheet against former Water Resources State Minister, also incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) of Patuakhali-4 Mahbubur Rahman, for acquiring illegal properties worth Tk 6.50 crore.

The anti-graft body approved this on Tuesday and ACC deputy director Farid Ahmed Patwary, also investigation officer of the case, will submit the charge sheet to the court soon.

The report said the ACC did not find any legal source of MP Mahbubur’s some property worth Tk 5.20 crore. There is also other property worth Tk 1.24 crore, which he did not mention in wealth statement.

Earlier on August 21, 2014, ACC deputy director M Khairul Huda filed a case with Ramna Thana in this regard.
