COMILLA: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members seized 100,000 piece yaba tablets from bordering Surjanagar area in Sadar upazila of the district.

A BGB team led-by commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Zakir Hossain, seized the tablets, approximately priced at Tk 3 crore, on early Thursday.

In a press release, sent on Thursday noon, told the media that, acting on tip-off, BGB members conducted a drive.

Sensing the presence of BGB, the smugglers managed to flee the place leaving yaba tablets.

Moreover, the BGB members recovered Indian liquor, chocolates, motorcycle, bed-sheet, and other materials pricing over Tk 6 lakh during the drive.

However, the liquor was handed over to narcotics control department and the smuggled goods at customs office in Comilla.
