DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Tuesday accepted the apologies of more 10 eminent personalities who had expressed their concerns through a statement over the tribunal’s contempt judgment on David Bergman.
A three-member panel led by tribunal chairman Justice Obaidul Hasan passed the order.
The 10 personalities include Dr Seuty Sabur, Dr Festina Perera, Mohiuddin Ahmed, M Nur Khan Liton, Dr Ferdaous Azim, Dr Ali Riaz, Dr Parvin Hasan, Dr Dina M Siddiqi, Dr Samia Haque and Dr Sarah Tasnim Shehabuddin.
With the Tuesday’s acceptance, the tribunal has granted apology of a total 24 eminent personalities out of 49 in two phases.
Moreover, the tribunal fixed March 18 to announce its order whether contempt of court charge would be brought against the rest 25 personalities for issuing the statement and the New York Times for publishing editorial criticizing the punishment of Bergman.
