DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested chief editor and admin of Basher Kella, a Jamaat-Shibir backed facebook fan page, from the residential area of Comilla Cadet College Thursday afternoon.

The arrestee is Ziauddin Fahad, hailed from Bashkhali Upazila of Chittagong and lived at his sister’s house. 

DMP (DB) Joint commissioner Monirul Islam was talking to journalists at DMP media center Friday.

He said Ziauddin Fahad is the administrator of more than 50 other facebook fan pages including Titumirer Basher Kella, Awami Tribunal, Bakshal Nipat Jak, I am Bangladeshi, Banshkhalinews24.com.

“There are 50 trained persons who work with Fahad in controlling and running the pages,” he added.

Monirul Islam also said they used to threat judges and progressive writers at times.

Ziauddin used to live in his sister’s house in Comilla, he added.
